We rely on local support, fundraising and small grants to continue our work in our local community and any money raised will help to continue this invaluable work in Stone.
AS A RESULT OF A GRANT FROM THE STAFFORDSHIRE COMMUNITY FUND THE HUB HAS BEEN ABLE TO EXPAND AND IMPROVE ITS JOB CLUB PROVISION WHICH RUNS ON TUESDAYS FROM 10.30 TO 12.30AM.
The trustees would like to thank Councillor Philip Jones for his help in obtaining this grant from the Community Fund for the organisation.
The grant has enabled the purchase of tablet computers, meaning that the client and job coach can now sit and discuss issues in private rather than having to sit in front of a PC.
Some of the money has also been used to purchase stationery and memory sticks for clients. Each client is given help in creating a personal CV to take away with them on the memory stick.
The job club gives one-to-one help to clients for as many sessions as are needed to create a CV, as well as providing basic IT skills and interview practice where it is needed.
It is meeting an important need in the Stone community and the trustees of The Hub are encouraged by the uptake and the success achieved in giving clients the confidence to go forward into the job market.
